Babysitting Course

Babysitting Course at the Tivoli Free Library

Saturday, June 12, 2010

Appropriate for ages 12-17

The class will be taught by Denise Schirmer, who has had more than 28 years experience in teaching babysitting certification. This is her third year in a row teaching the course here at the library. Attendees should bring a bag lunch.

Pre-registration is MANDATORY. Class fee $10.

Red Hook's Big Read

In June of 2009, the Friends of the Red Hook Public Library in partnership with the Red Hook Public Library were awarded a grant of $5000 for a town-wide BIG READ. The Friends of the Red Hook Public Library have chosen the book The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald for a town-wide Big Read. A variety of fascinating programs, (May 15, 2010 - June 16, 2010) will engage our libraries, schools, residents, businesses and community organizations in a town-wide read of The Great Gatsby. These programs will offer students and residents in our town and villages the opportunity for interesting and insightful book discussions, as well as fun and educational programs that will explore the 1920's and encourage reading.
